some of the lounges on places like holiday extras and executive lounges, are just standard lounges in airports, and not the airlines actualy first class lounge..
i know delta let you pay to get into their crown room club... but the standard lounges are not of the same calibre of the actual airlines lounges... IMO!0 -

I agree. The general lounges are not nearly as nice, and the only times that you are likely to use the same lounge as business and first passengers is at much smaller airports, such as Male (The Maldives).
It is also possible to book one of the Virgin Clubhouses if you are flying with Virgin, but only at airports where they are exclusively for the use of Virgin passengers (not shared with another airline).Gone ... or have I?0 -

You could always tell us which airports you intend to utilise the lounge.
I agree with dmg24 and markymoo
Here's a web-site that has lounge reviews.0 -
We found the Heathrow Terminal 4 lounge to be good - drinks, including sparkling wine, teas, coffees, and snacks for up to 3 hours.
It was a much better experience than wandering round the shops etc.
I have booked again using an offer via BAA Worldpoints Scheme (free to join) which gives you free points and I got a 20% discount - although last time I only paid £4 per person using the Egg Card discount which used to apply.0 -

the 'generic' lounges don't compare to the airlines own business or first class lounges...some american airlines allow you to purchase access on the day0
