Pence per hour?

I just bought an electrisave Owl so I can observe when I am using a lot of power. Thing is we are on staywarm and this thing primarily gives a pence per hour readout. Could some kind person give me a rough guide to the average pence per hour paid. I know it may seem pointless as I am charged the same regardless of how much I use but I am interested in saving unecessary usage and the pence per hour is a more friendly way of understanding usage.

Why don't you look at your last bill or on-line and check the cost per kWh? Surely you have to program this device with your unit cost for it to display anything meaningful anyway? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Does Staywarm have a unit rate? I thought it was a flat fee no matter how much (or little) you used...
OP 10 or 11p per Kwh is about the ball-park you are looking atI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.:cool:0 -

yes there is no unit rate but I want to get a feel 4 how much power I am using. It's not all about money. There are environmental issues as well0

You don't need to buy an Electrisave to know that when devices are switched on they consume power! The ones that generate heat consume lots of power! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Perhaps, perhaps not.
You may well use it and find out that your TV uses next to nothing on standby (perhaps the equivilant of £1 - £2 per year if you had to pay the extra) - once you have proved that to yourself, you know that it is OTHER areas that probably need your attention to save the planet (if that is your motive for buying the device in the first place)

Also I produce my own music. I don't know what the content of a rack of fx units;compressors;amplifiers; mixers;synthesizers and the like use. So I figure It'll help me on that one too. If nothing else other than to show the family that what looks like jodrel bank doesn't necessarily use too much power0
