Price guarantee 2008

I am coming to the end of my british gas price protection at the end of may.
British gas are offering to transfer me onto a price guarantee until 31st december 2009 but with cancellation fees.
These are the new rates
electric tier1 26.352 tier2 11.844 tier1 applies for the first 125kwh per quarter

Gas tier1 7.092 tier2 2.975 tier1 applies to the first 670kwh per quarter.

I have had a look on uswitch etc but i can not find the exact british gas tariff to do a compare with.
I was thinking about the scottish power fixed to 2011 the rates are cheaper but the tier 1 kwh per quarter seems a lot higher

Electric 16.110 for the first 225kwh per quarter and then 8.836

Gas 4.311 for the first 1143kwh per quarter and then 2.910

I have just come off the phone again with bg as i was on 2008 and wanted to clear something up. I wrote on a post in here last week with prices a man called mike gave me which were around 24 pence mark for electric if i stayed on 2009. Now yesterday i phoned again and asked a bloke called adam if i stayed on 2009 what would my prices be, he said my prices would stay the same as my 2008 prices i do think something fishy is going on and so took his details and said i had been quoted higher prices, he assured me i would not be paying anymore on the 2009 plan. Will let you know what my prices are in june when i get a bill hopefully i wont have to complain for a mis-sold product ! lol

Did you not receive a letter from british gas telling you that price protection 2008 was coming to an end and that they would put you on the 2009 one?
In the letter i got it says that the price i will pay will be 9.8% above our current standard variable rates.
