Are high mileage cars easy to sell?

Hi all
I'm thinking of getting a temporary run around just to tide me over until about December.
I've seen a little Fiesta Diesel on a 52 plate but with very high mileage 97k. Are cars nowadays hard to sell once they clock over 100k?
Thanks

Must come down to the Price .
I would have thought a CHEAP fiesta will always sell.
I recently was tempted by a Mondeo titanium x ( all the goodies)
on a 55 plate , only 29000 miles only £6500 :j:j
But it was a 3.0 litre :mad::mad:
Insurance / tax/ petrol .......... but i was tempted.0 -
Diesel absolutely not a problem. Most diesels are only just 'run in' at about 70k. My Diesel Astra is in her prime now @ 71K and running brilliantly.
Most people realise that diesels have a longer shelf life and we sold an Omega with 120K and had a bidding war!!0 -
In the used car market diesels are selling well because everyone is trying to bring down their costs and there are not enough diesels to go round. So long as the price is right it will sell on.
Different class of car I know, but a 6 year old BMW 530d will sell in a week or two at around 9-10K, the same car but a 530i petrol sticks on the market for ages at 7-8K, which is not logical because the 530i has cheaper total cost of ownership with these prices.0 -
I bought a 101k 54 plate Mondeo for £5200. Not put off by the mileage at all. Saying that though, a full main dealer service history is a must. Make sure you have as much info regarding the servicing as possible.0

A car that has done most of its mileage on motorways tends to have less wear and tear so is often a better buy. Usually these are reasonable new cars with unusally high mileages and they come in at some real bargain prices.
There seems to be this stigma attached to cars that have over 100k miles. Personally, I dont see what the difference between a car with 95k and 100k. Its amazing how many poeple will sell their cars at just below 100k thinking they will get loads more money. It how the car covered all the mileage that makes the differnece. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0 -

This is so true, Amsterdam taxis can last 1,000,000 km because they are in use 24/7 the engine never gets cold so they don't wear out very quickly despite town driving.
The problem is market perception, people looking to buy a car have no way of prooving how it was used, the only measure they have is the mileage on the clock.0
