How to pay in cheque via ATM -LLoyds

As the title says!

How do I go about paying in a cheque through the cashpoint/ ATM. After I select the "deposit" option from the screen, then what do I need to do?

do I put the cheque in an envelope?
do I use some sort of paying in slip?
what details, apart from acc no and sort code, do I put on the backof the cheque?

So many question, thanks for any help

Don't know. I havent seen a cashpoint that has a paying in option at any of the Lloyds I use. We tend to get second hand machines out this way and still have the old creditpoint paying in method. It would be nice if they did put that option on our Lloyds cashpoints as I would use it.

I would assume that you put the cheque and your paying in slip inside the envelope. The paying in slip, if not preprinted, would need sort code and account number. It is also worth putting sort code and account number on the back of the cheque.

machine will usually give you and envelope to put cheque in and will give you reciept for the amount you say it is for, this will then be checked when machine is emptied, I usually takes and extra day when you pay in cheques this way.

  • Thanks for clearing this up for me doelani, I need to pay in via ATM as I cannot manage within opening hours. But thanks for the warning about clearance times

Dunstonh, I'm guessing that it might be machines that are outside the branch offering this

    Helenesara,

The ATMs that offer Deposit options are those without the "Cash & Dash" logos.

You don't need to fill in a paying in slip. Writing your Sort Code and A/c no. behind the cheque will be a good idea.

I've noticed a few times though, some of the machines run out of envelope and no envelope comes out! I normally use a different machine when these happens.
