i am looking to upgrade my pc monitor to a 22" ...now i would like the idea of using the monitor also as a tv so what is best? Buy a monitopr and say a USB freeview dungle or
invest ina tv with freeview that can also take my vga feed?

One main advantage is prob price...also not sure how well the usb freeview quality is

well i've used a couple of usb freeview sticks and they surprised me, quality not bad at all(make sure it can take a full aerial tho, the wee ones supplied are not good at all) and on price that does generally appear to be the cheaper option
I would go with what it is likely to be used for the most,

If you buy a 22" HD TV it will be 1280 * 720 pixels. A typical 22" monitor will be 1680 * 1050 so the monitor has a much better resolution. I'd get a monitor and if you wnat to view TV on it get an adapter for the PC.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

thats in theory, truth is they all use the same panels, so whilst a tv is quoted as being 720p it will still have a 1680*1050 panel
    Ref This
Quality will be no diff that will depend on tuner and digital processor (in tv or pc)
As for connections thats dependant on the model and you may find one tv has dvi, whilst another monitor may not, hdmi is primarily a spec for tv's designed to be incorporated with a system called hdcp and if u intend to use this make sure it has both features for future proofing

If it was me I would spend the money on the best non tv
Monitor you can. and then just get one of pinnacle DVB USB
    Sticks for around £20-30

Never been a fan of combined electronics really there is
always compromises, and if one bit breaks you have to replace
    the whole thing.
