I think a BT is balance transfer.

I helped my mate transfer the balance from her old card to a virgin card today - she laughed when I told her about how you had hidden your OH's cards in a box of water at the back of the freezer.

Yup, sorry about that. If you come across the term "super balance transfer" this is what Virgin allow. Not just transfers between CC's (Credit cards) but also to your current account. Some people have used this to pay off loans early (with the early settlement charge) and can then concentrate on paying off as and when without incurring extra interest and can overpay without penalty.
After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

    Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
    Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0

    Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/2011

    TFBK

TFBK - It is possible to BT to your card (I've done it twice). BUT get it in writing from him that the debt remains his and he will maintain responsibility for paying it, otherwise you are incurring debt that (in the event you split up) he would no longer be responsible for!

    and the

you are only spending X what is the problem?

NB - where did you get the prepaid card from? I have a tiny limit on mine (which is paid off in full) and it is problem for paying car insurance etc. When I looked at the prepaid cards they were expensive.

its a cash passport card from thomas cook / going places. you can use them to take money abroard instead of travellers cheques ie in euro's and dollars, however they have one for sterling. all you need is £50.00 to put on it then they can open in store with a pasport ect. you can view it online or in store. to put extra money on you need to ither transfer through the internet or goin with your passport and put cash on in person. and its FREE.

Some providers do allow you to transfer a balance in another persons name onto a card in your name.
