When you start paying off your mortgage, there may be some quick wins you can do, such as cashing in premium bonds or clearing out a savings account.
As the months and years pass, it is easy to lose motivation a bit as overpayments become a bit of a grind, especially in the current climate of increased fuel and food costs etc.
This thread was started so that people can record the small things that they do, or don't do, in order to progress their dream of paying their mortgage off that bit earlier.
Today I will:

Today I will:
- Not much I can do today, bar chasing DH to claim his expenses, but I will stay positive and commited to the challenge and hope that I can do more for it tomorrow!
- I will not spend on non essentials
- Spoke too soon! Just found that a Paypal transfer had hit my account, so have just paid £100 off the mortgage online. Yipee!

Today I need to:
- Pack up my very first amazon sale and send off so I can get to the funds
- Try for a NSD (other than the postage for Amazon, but that's covered)
- Try and list more books on Amazon tonight0 -

Evab, have you started to take your photos yet? Come on, get off this forum and make a start! (Well you did ask.....)
I think I was a bit ambitious yesterday and I didn't either get to the gym or plant any seeds. I came home from work, made tea for myself and DS, washed up, made sandwiches for today, and flopped exhausted in front of the TV to watch the Apprentice.
Oh well.
Another day, another opportunity.
Today I have/will:- Brought lunch with me again, so no spending on food whilst at work;
- Just had a phone call to say I have won a £200 watch from a local jewellers. Yay! Go me!
- If I get away from work early, I'll plant the courgette seeds.

Hi all
Although I'm on holiday I think it's going to be a NSD for me. Things I would like to get done today
Contact mortgage company to see if
· I can claim OP’s back if I ever need to - no I can't but I can use them to 'cover' a repayment holiday if I ever need to
· Whether they do any offset accounts using my ISA (I didn’t even know that was possible but saw on another thread that some mortgage providers do that – who knew! - nope, they don't. Ah well, you don't know if you don't ask
· Sort some other ISA admin out
· Contact sharedealing company to sort out an anomaly that is showing on my on-line account with them - so far spent nearly 2 hours today on the phone with 5 separate calls and 4 different people and still not much further forward - just making a cup of coffee to 're-group' and can feel my blood pressure rising as a result of various !!!! ups:mad:MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Hi all,
having a 'low spend day' here, just £1 for a playgroup session, and milk and bread. Have done really well with the weekly housekeeping money this week; I have £28 spare and payday tomorrow so that money can go in the mortgage overpayment fund. :T0 -
Not much from me today except bringing my own lunch in to workMS Stalwart. Used site for >10 years :jMake Do, Mend and Minimise member - focussing on upcycling/repurposing and sewing0

Well I won't be spending much today either, as won't need to buy any food etc. Need to get some Pet waste bags (saying it very politely) but they are only £1 a box. Could do with another planter and some compost for some herbs I bought at the weekend though.
Managed to only spend £1 today yippeee. Plus emailed Pigsback about some missing points fingers crossed I'll get them.0 -
To add to earlier, I have cancelled my Debenhams store card, with a bit of a fight on the telephone (no I don't want to keep it even if there is no charge, I don't want the temptation!!!). I have also cancelled the Next Directory (much easier).
So although no money saved in the long run it will be I'm sure.
Hope everyone is having a good day.Fashion on a ration 0 of 660
