Hi

My brother has a e system 3086 Laptop, that will not boot up. Basically, it goes to start up and brings up the black screen with the options 1)safe mode 2)safe mode with network 3)safe mode w/configuration 4)last known good config and 5)windows normally.

Now i have tried all of those but none work and it just loops back. He doesnt have any CD's with his laptop whatsoever, none came with the machine at all.

Help will be much appreciated!!

Thanks

yea if you tell me what oporating system he is running i can give you a link to a site where you can download an ISO file which you burn to CD, then you put the cd in the laptop start it up, run recovery console type in some commands which i will tell you and hey presto fixed.

He has a cd drive? Puppy linux (boots of cd) should get him working an onto the net
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

problem is he needs to burn a cd or he needs someone to burn a cd for him and you can't keep running puppy linux without the CD in the drive

i see, just wondering this is a legal CD right?

Can i ask how old this laptop is? Most new laptops come built in with a recovery partion.
