Also, don't forget the first 45 minutes are most likely to be a repeat from when they first met the developer ... and only the last 15 minutes is "so what's he doing now?"

Are they gay? Much better eye candy than usual.

Quick overview (first development)
7 months to build
They gave up their careers to do it
Beeny concerns: spent too much on the kitchen, didn't judge their market right for who would buy in that area, mostly traditional houses wanted in that area.
£55,000 - initial budget
£85,000 - end budget. They went OTT on fixtures/fittings and kitchen.
£5,000 - original kitchen budget
£25,000 - what they spent on the kitchen
Need to sell for at least £210,000 to make £70,000 target profit
Agents priced it at:
£200,000
£165,000 - "bit high tech for local market"
£225,000 - "spec is a bit high and priced for the higher quality of fittings"
Show had some viewings lined up for them:
- middle aged couple. Local/looking for new home. "bit like a men's loo" "very small sink, wouldn't get a pan in there". "Been very cleverly done, very airy and light, keeping a lot of the old beams" "Doesn't really do it for me"
- mid-20s young couple. Looking for first home together. "different" "Best we've seen. Everything is brand new" "Possibly put in a serious offer
- woman with toddler. She has 5 children. Lives in Cornwall, looking for 2nd home near her mother. "door's fabulous"
"Absolutely lovely kitchen, lots of light" "Have to bring my husband back. Definitely interested"
These viewers were told it was £225,000.
If they get £225,000 they would get a profit of £85,000
Didn't attract a quick sale. Instead of dropping the price they held out for their preferred price. It took 6 months to sell.... they sold it for £235,000
Profit: £135,0000 -
Next one they did. This wasn't really covered in the programme as they bought/developed and sold it without any filming.
8 months to do it
£152,000 - bought for
£80,000 - budget
Originally for sale at £425,000
Beeny: "Yet again they've created a unique property for a niche market"
Took 12 months to find a buyer for that one.
£365,000 was final asking price
£355,000 was final selling price
They said they should have dropped the price sooner.
£117,000 gross profit on this one
Here's the link to that purchase/sale

LOL
I did a posting about the final part of the programme, but then the site ate it when I ended up with a "page cannot be displayed".
So, from memory...
They are now running a design business.
They had been doing interiors for developers and they seem to have a shop (lots of cushions, sure they're gay)
Their 3rd and final development (again, no filming) was sold in June 2006. It was another barn development.
Overall, the three developments they did gave them a gross profit of £337,000.
Beeny asked if they prefer doing design, or developing.
They said design.
This programme is really getting more scant on details/disasters than before.
Homes Under the Hammer this morning I think had two losers... unfortunately I missed it for some reason.0 -

This is a really old one isn't it. You can tell by Beeny's barnet. You reckon Channel 4 are struggling to find content?
It takes all my willpower not to down mouse and sneak downstairs for some HUTH acton every morning...0 -
