How do I find who my gas and electric supplier is?

I posted a message earlier and someone said I would stay with the supplier who supplies the house and then switch. I've been over today and I cannot find anything that says who supplied either to the house.
So what do I do now? Sorry to be dumb, I've never had to deal with all this before. Do I just randomly call suppliers and ask them if they hold the supply?? any ideas?
Thanks.

AFAIK they all have access to the database and should be able to tell you.
I called Npower (in error) when I first bought my own place to discuss my bill - they were able to tell me in a couple of minutes I wasn't with them and actually with E.on
Give it a try on the pretext of "I don't what my account numer is, can you work it out from my address?"I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.:cool:

You should call MPAS for your distribution area and they will be able to tell you who is the current supplier for the electric to your property.
Here's a link to MPAS phone numbers for the different regions.

or (much the same but with better explanation}
