Moving meters in doors

I live in a housing association property and my Electicity meter is outside in an unlocked box.
My question is can I have it moved inside, and how much would this cost ?.
Cheers

why is it a problem being outside? Many people have there meters installed like yours.
You will probably have to pay 2 things, one for the supply region/company to move the meter and two for an electrician to make good the wiring in your property to suit the new location.
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

I would love to have mine outside, they can read the meter without you being in.
No-one is going to pinch your meter, why does it matter?0 -

A few reasons really
My Electricity supplier have told me many times that they cannot acess my meter to read it, even though it's outside and unlocked.
Also if I want to pay by tokens it would be nice to have it inside easier for me to topup.

If they are snotty about reading it now, think of the excuses if it was locked in.
Perhaps you should be changing your supplier.
Isn't electricity supplied by a pre-paid key rather than tokens?
So you stick £20 on, slot it into the meter, it takes the credit off the key & you take the key away with you. So no tokens to feed.
My sister had a prepay meter, she hated it, but her DH hates owing money to anyone & likes to pay in advance for everything. Anyway she hated it & they got a normal meter now.
Did you know, normal meters are a cheaper way of buying?
Prepay is expensive.0
