Ditching the car is the answer to your problems(over £4K a year).By doing that you should be able to leave yourself with about £400 a month, it's not going to be a champagne and caviar lifestyle but a lot better than you first posted. If you are strict and live within your means you will feel the full benefit of any future rises in salary.0

At least 24/25k and you are just about ok for living as a single young professional only a year out of uni. Tried looking close to work, but as I work in central London, you need mega bucks to find a decent studio if that. £600 for a 1 bed flat is a good price in south london, was initially looking for a studio and thought why pay £600 for a studio when I can get a 1 bed.
Ah sorry forgot the student loan factor - I am lucky enough to be old enough to not have had one of those. Maybe it's the car then, housing is so expensive in London I know! Anyway stick with this site - it will give you lots of tips to save your cash and then when you get your next pay rise maybe life will get a little bit easier.
Good luck
