its a commom problem on vauxhall engine. its not the belt that goes it the plastic runners that hold the belt in place. the bearing collape and the belt jumps and snaps. vauxhall revised the service on these to every 60,000 or six years and 40,000 and 4 years for the belt. it wont cost loads for an engine rebuild couple of hundread at most, I just rebuilt my 2.0 16v engine due to a snap belt. it cost me £8 a valve £20 head gasket £20 to skim the head and £12 for the head bolts. you could prob just pick up an complete head and fit that. head should cost you about £150 - £200. if you give me the engine size i will have a ring around for uFiliss0
