Problem with company in France

Ok on 18 April i ordered two tshirts from an official Ed Banger Records dealer called Arcade Mode in France for my boyfriend (now ex). The deal was i ordered them on my card and had them delivered here as he is never in to take delivery as delivery was by courier so i agreed (stupidly) to ordering them for him. The cost of the t-shirts were £70 inc delivery and VAT.
A couple of days later and before the t-shirts arrived we actually split up, he hadnt paid me - he lives 30 miles away and he has ignored all contact from me since.
The t-shirts came on 24 April - by courier. So i emailed the company, explained my problem and asked could I possibly return the for a refund minus the postage.
I received the following email back the same day.
Dear Customer,
Yes we can refund your order as soon as the items have been returned to us.
We're sorry to hear about all this.
Be well.
Arcade Mode.
I then returned the t-shirts the next day on 25 April by International signed for as the man in the post office told me i could track this online.
I emailed Arcade Mode with the tracking number, thanked them for letting me return the tshirts and asked for a refund asap.
A few days later (after trying to track the item online) i realised i had been informed incorrectly by the post office guy and that I could only track it leaving the country, anyway I thought I would wait to get the refund or their reply.
I hadnt heard anything by 8th May so I emailed them again asking about the refund and asked had they received the t-shirts back.
No reply or refund as at today. So i phoned Royal Mail and asked them if they could check whether the item was received, they said I couldnt but if i went onto www.postoffice.com i could go on the French site and check there.
I couldnt find what i was looking for as it was all in French so I emailed the French Post Office with the reference asking if they could tell me had it been delivered. I received an email back from them saying they would be in contact within 48 hours.
I didnt want to wait another two days so contacted Arcade Mode again this morning with copies of the previous emails - they have still not replied.
I have just received an email from the French Post office stating that they delivered the t-shirts back on 30 April.
What can I do with it being in France? I have found a contact email for Ed Banger records who name this Arcade Mode as their official supplier on their website.
The thing is im not working at the moment and need this money back as I was expecting to get it back from my ex a couple of days later!

Email them again (in french if you can) saying that the tshirts were sent back and according to La Poste, they received them on 30th April, so can they now refund you the money minus the postage charge within 10 working days. (give date). If you don't receive it, write again staying they have 5 more days otherwise you'll contact trading standards/
The french have a trading standards equivalent, which (I THINK) is this web page: http://www.minefi.gouv.fr/DGCCRF/
If you can't find anyone to translate into french, PM me and I'll give it a go!
You really need to write in French though, as they might ignore aynthing in English!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
