Levelling two tier floor

Hi,
I have knocked through an internal wall to extend my kitchen, but I have now been left with a two tier floor due to one room being previous covered with levelling latex screed. At the moment the difference in height is around 5-6mm. My question is, what is the best way to level out this difference? Can I just use self levelling latex screed - which usual recommends no more than 3mm depth - but use it for 6mm, or will I have to first lay a thin concrete layer, and then the screed?
FYI, the space needed levelling is around 3sqm
Thanks

I'm assuming the lower part is a concrete floor. If so, I've used Latex Levelling compound for thicker levelling than 5 mm with no problems. To get a 5-6mm concrete screed would be quite difficult. It's usually ui8sed for larger thicjnesses than that.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
