Advice needed, new build planning issue?

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking on these forums for a while now and have utilised the council tax banding appeal :) (just waiting on an answer)

Anyway, I've got two problems currently and I would like some expert advice if possible.

Quick intro:
In November last year I brought a new build house in Leamington Spa, built by AC Lloyd (local builders). The plot I brought at the time was right on the edge of the section of houses built, which meant that building work would be expected and houses to be erected on two sides of my house. (which I was fine with)

Problem:
There is a house directly behind my property being erected currently.
The builders are just building a window in this property that directly overlooks my garden & living room (I have a side garden). To help perspective, said window is approximately ten feet away from my house and approx four feet distance from my garden fence.

When the property was sold to me and also on the conveyance plan (boundary land reg plan) it clearly shows the window in a less intrusive place which would give me at least some privacy in my living room and partial garden privacy.

So I've called AC Lloyd and spoken to the Operations Engineer who has stated that the conveyance plans are a guideline for boundaries only, that the planning plans submitted to the local council are the ones that count, he's getting back to me with regard to this, but I can't help but feel that they probably haven't put the window in the wrong place and that the planning plans may well show that it's in the right place.

Do I have any options?
I was thinking.. if the builders won't move the window, can I put a board or trellis up in my property to block this window?
Do I have any legal options? Based on the only plan I've seen not being accurate?

This is really upsetting my wife at the moment and I'm at a loss as what to do.

have a look on your local council's website they probably have the plans online, if they are building to the approved plans there isn't much you can do about it apart from as you say grow something to obscure the view.

    a) phone the council planning department and ask their opinion. If there is an error they will pressurise the builder to move the window.

    if that fails:

    b) leylandii grow fast.

Leylandii might grow fast... but they're probably not a good idea for the OP or the person who will end up in the new built house.

If I had to construct something, I'd be looking at how high a trellis I'd need to put up ... and have cheery roses on it or something low/no maintenance and cheery looking.
