How do Capital One treat YOU?

in Credit cards
I have a Gold Card with Capital One.
My Interest Rate? [glow=red,2,300]29.94%![/glow]
This stems from a "Classic" account I opened three years ago, designed for people who found it difficult to get credit. My payment history is great, NOT ONE missed payment since the account was opened.
Through the years they have given me various "upgrades" to my account, from Classic card, to Premier Card, and now to Gold Card, with various limit increases. I have asked and they will not reduce the interest rate.
I have found the administation staff in Capital one to be blunt and unhelpful, for example when I asked for Credit Card Cheques, I was told they would give me a chequebook when they decide to issue one to me. When I phoned up for a Limit increse, they make you feel like trash.
So. Gold Card. 29.94%. I think I need to ditch Capital One.

Time to follow Martin's motto of 'ditch and switch'0

Yes, they treat me the same way
Useful for building a history but that's all. Once you have, ditch it!0 -
I have to admit i've had no trouble with capital one, even when i got charged for going overdrawn by a few quid because when i logged in the balance was all messed up... they refunded all the charges ;D
Mind you, at the time they were trying to get me to upgrade so maybe that helped ??? Think i'm on the same interest rate though although i only use it for shopping and clear it each month so hasn't cost me... yet 8)0 -
I've found their account security to be somewhat dubious - didn't think about it until my account was "taken over" and fraudulent transactions put through. However, you can gain access to a credit card account to change address details etc over the telephone by only giving the card number, expiry date (you can enter this incorrectly and still get through), home telephone number and date of birth. Despite setting up a password on the account, I'm not asked for it.
I'm waiting to get my cashback paid in Jan then ditching.0
