Crazy format thing in Word!

Can anyone help, this weird line has appeared in my word document, i don't know what it is and i can't get rid!

It looks like this below) and is appearing under some areas of text, I assuem i have changed the forat somewhere but not sure how...

  • Looks like a html line break. Have you saved it as a HTML document?
    If you're feeling down, you must be holding a duck.
  • Open word.
    There is a button next to where you zoom (on my word anyway that looks like two lines with a backwards p on the left side. Click it and behold it will show all your formatting, for a quick solution delete the empty line and hold down shift and press enter
