Just typical... (non performing seller)

Been on eBay since 2001 and have had over 400 successful transactions, and the first time i ever got one of those ebay/paypal £5 off vouchers... BANG! it all goes wrong =/

"[FONT=arial,sans-serif]heollo i am very sorry but i sold the gamecube for a higher price so can you open a dispute an i be very happy to give you a refund i am very sorry can we both come to a mutual aggrement thank you"

Seller has been recently selling on ebay and has amassed a massive 5 feedbacks recently (get stung for trusting a relative new seller...). However there are just a couple of things I'm wondering about:

i. By dispute, would he be referring to paypal/ebay or both?
ii. What happens to the voucher if/when i get refunded?

he'll be lucky if i give him a mutual out of this...

-thanks.

    DON'T mutal!!!

Report as non perfoming seller. Open paypal dispute asking seller for refund.
Once refund received leave negative feedback

Unfortunatly not sure on the voucher

I wouldn't mutual either, how on earth is this mutual to you, let him pay the blooming fees and maybe he'll learn how to use ebay properly. However don't refuse outright in case he thinks he's clever (and they rarely are) and tries a full NPB instead, you'll obviously win an appeal but it will be wasting your time emailing ebay. I am also VERY worried by the fact that he wants you to open a paypal dispute to get your money back, that will tie it up for months and with 5 feedback he can't offer full paypal protection so they don't guarantee it all back if seller has already withdrawn the money. I would get onto paypal today and stop the money from being moved, be persistent some customer services people are better than others. Hang on the phone, although the system is automated if you wait you get customer services. However you'll need to check the number and book a call through your paypal account as it comes up with a number there that you quote to go through security checking.

I would also pull the sellers details and give him a call, explain that he needs to refund the money just by clicking 'refund' in his paypal page that shows the transaction. Do it all today if possible.

As for the voucher, I 'm not sure but I do recall reading other threads where people have lost the voucher when payments have been returned, it might be worth asking paypal perhaps?

Started the paypal dispute earlier today a he has refunded it. However couldn't do the ebay dispute yet, but shall leave him a lovely neg (don't really care if i get one back) to warn others of his practices :D. Also the £5 ebay voucher says "refunded" but I didn't get the credit for it (also it probably would've expired by now)

    paypal:

9 May 2008 Add Funds from a Bank Account Completed Details £6.19 GBP
9 May 2008 Coupon Refunded Details £5.00 GBP
14 May 2008 Refund Completed Details £11.19 GBP
14 May 2008 Coupon Refund Completed Details -£5.00 GBP
    14 May 2008 Temporary Hold Placed ... -£6.19 GBP

I know its tempting to leave a real stinker
of a feedback for this seller but if you can
try and leave something that he cant deny
or will find it difficult to reply to without
looking like the scam merchant he is.
    Others may know something better,
    but what about this below.......

Non performing seller dispute claim fees refunded seller did not have item to sell

Lets everyone know that this seller did not
have the goods, you had to open a dispute
    to get your money back.
Puts everyone off in reams because if I saw this
or something similar I would avoid like the plague.
Plus they will find it harder to leave a neg in reply to
    factual feedback like this.

If you mention the dispute though you run the risk of getting the feedback removed, it is one of the things that ebay say should not be mentioned in the feedback.

I do agree though that when leaving a neg word it so that other posisble buyers give this seller the widest berth.

I would,ve asked them to use the send money facility through paypal or write you cheque in return for agreeing to a mutual, then at least you would've made a fiver.....althought they may not've agreed to do it but it would've been worth a try.
Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D

A savvy buyer though will know they can get it removed under this policy:

The Feedback makes reference to an eBay, PayPal or law enforcement organisation investigation.

What is it with people who buy something on a buy it now and don’t pay? Some one bought something of me nearly a week ago and heard nothing from them sent an invoice may give them an email see if that gets them moving

What would you say is a reasonable time to pay for a buy it now?

    Cheers nutty
