thanks in advance. we have preference for nice open spaces but as long as i have facilities not far for a toddler or alternative for bad weather!

Isle of wight is great. My kids loved it last May and still think it was the best holiday ever (LOL as we have been to Canada, Euro Disney, Universal Studios, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Ireland, Butlins and spent a lot more!!!). Drive to Portsmouth (ferry over with car on it-red funnel think it was called). We stayed at the small Languards holiday site, which just has a swimmintg pool and did trips to Black Gang chine, the beach, needles and took the chair lift down to the coloured sands. Free Donkey sanctuary, model village, had tea in lovely cream tea shop with a thatched roof. The scenery is lovely as you drive around the Island.

Yes Isle of Wight is great, we stayed at a Languards site between Shanklin and Sandown and it was great the kids had a ball (this was about 12 years ago though. Cornwall is great if the weather is fine and I would recommend the Vendee area in France - St Jean de Monts or surrounding area the campsites there are great.
