Canceling BT line - Excess credit

Hi all,

Quick question before I cancel my line. Long story short I was credited over £70 for a complaint however I am moving away from this address back home for the summer and will be canceling this line.

I'll probably have about £30 remaining once I pay off the contract. Do you think they will send me a cheque :rotfl: or at least credit it to the account i'm moving too?

Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with this that I could push if possible.

Call them, they'll be able to issue you a cheque no problems.

If you're cancelling the line and starting a new one rather than doing a home move, then you'll be on the new accounts database and a transfer between the old one and new one is impossible, what will happen is when your account is ceased, your direct debit will be ceased (if you have one), and any credit on your final bill is sent out in a cheque automatically addressed to yourself, normally with your final bill but it can be delayed for a week or so. Be sure if you are moving before you expect to receive the cheque and whatnot to update your address on their records otherwise you might not see that for a while.
