What would you do with £25,000?

Hi,
My friend (I wish it was me) has £25,000 that he wants to invest/ put into savings. His main gripe is the amount of tax he has been paying on this money in his bank account.
Where should he put it? Tax free savings, shares etc.....
Any advice would be great.

Regards,
Matt

    Save or invest?

Is it better to earn 4% and pay no tax or earn 6% and pay 20% tax?

Tax shouldnt be the only driver but there are a quite a few thousand products/areas available which could suit. You havent given much to narrow the options down.
