OS insect repellant

we went camping at the weekend. For some reason I seem to have this invisable sign over my head that says "insects - 24 hr all you can eat buffet" - its has always been the way , sigh.

Is there an OS way to deter the little blighters. due to health concerns I dont go anywhere near the standard insect repeallant chemicals, eg Deet, and candles are out as we have a 2 yr-old who is attracted to trouble nearly as much as the insects are attracted to me!! :rotfl:

so i was thinking essential oils, colours to avoid, anything you can think of.

Thanks (she said scratching at particularly troublesome bite!)

Hmm... different things deter different beasties, I think. You could try browsing here:-

apparently Avon's Skin-So-Soft range can work according to the link above from squeaky (thanks squeaky). That seems a nice option, so i shall give that a try. Maybe not as OS as using vinegar (another suggestion from the linked threads) but hopefully a nicer smell.

I can second Avon's skin so soft range. Parents live in prime midge terratory and it is the ONLY thing that works, and doesn't smell awful - which is a bonus!

you can buy it online and in some shops such as TISO. It's not too expensive either so OS all round :D
