I guess if you can get it while at uni the at least you know it is only this summer you have to worry about.

Child Tax pays for children.
Your partner is entitled to IS for you and him no problems £112.70, any income will reduce the IS due, Carers will be £50.55 and any grant loan income will be counted less any disregards.
Only one of a couple needs to be claiming IS for both.
Students dont pay council tax so you should get a minimum 25% reduction.0 -

Hi, yes this is what I had been to believe, I wish the system could be a little easier to understand at times.
I hope that we will have enough in savings to over the period 31st July until sep 29 when my student finance kicks in to cover the worst case scenario.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0 -
Thinking about it, I was talking rubbish about student finance and income support, asin your case, your OH would need to be at home because he will be the carer of your son, won't he? I had forgotten that bit, sorry.
If you find things tough once you get started, definitely apply to the access fund at your uni too, as you will be near the top of the list in terms of priority.
