how much to plaster a room?

I'm thinking about re-decorating my bedroom - about 11 foot by 11 foot but once I pull the wallpaper off, I'm pretty sure the plaster underneath (at least half of the room) is shot to bits.

Can anyone give me an idea of how much I would expect to pay a plasterer to fix it up and how long is it likely to take?

I'm in the South East.

Thanks.

Hi jet, for just a re-skim you be talking between £250 & £300, if theres patches to be filled aswell you could put around another £100 on top.
Time wise, between a day to a day an a half.

Thanks for that. That gives me an idea of what to expect.

  • Hi, I'm looking to plaster the ceilings and walls for 2 rooms, both rooms around 3.7m x 3.7m. I'd like a flat and smooth finish so it's ready to be painted. Can someone please give me an idea how much it will cost to plaster 2 rooms and paint them as well (both ceilings 1 coat and walls 2 coats)? Can you give me separate quotes for the plaster and painting as I'm thinking maybe I'll paint myself. Many thanks! I'm really stressed with DIY - never done it myself
