Where can I buy school shorts? (need on thursday)

Hi,

My son starts nursery on Thursday, just been for a meeting with his teacher and it turns out he needs a uniform (I'd previously been told he wouldn't). He needs grey school shorts, the pull up type.

I've tried Woolworths but they had none (it's a bad time of year for finding uniform!), does anyone know where else has them? He also needs white polo shirts but they should be easy to find.

Thanks!

Cheapest place and easiest is the supermarkets, Tesco's, Asda and Sainsburys all do them.

Mothercare and Next wear the best from my experience, and they both carry schoolwear all year round. You'll pay more than at the supermarkets, but you won't have to replace it as often.

I had to buy my son some new school shorts at the weekend - went to Asda to be told 'Sorry madam, we only do girl's summer uniforms, we don't stock boy's shorts'!!!

Went next door to Matalan and got some with an adjustable waistband for a fiver!

Also remember that the shorts will only be for a few weeks then it will be trousers again, they probably won't fit next year. I've not bought them for my 4 year old as he falls in the playground too often, he wouldn't have any knees left.

funny, i bought some from asda last week for my son after weeks of looking in various shops, really nice combat style for only £4, there's never any consistency amongst shops

Does your nursery have a second hand shop? A lot of them do so it might be worth a call. Don't be shy why pay £5 when you might get them for £2 and hardly worn. My kids have almost without exception only had second hand uniform from the second hand shop and hand me downs from friends and they always look smart.
