Problems with PS3 Game Demos downloaded from Playstation Store

Google searches have produced nothing, on the internet, on here and avforums.com, so I guess I am the only one experiencing this problem!

Basically, apart from two (listed below), game demos downloaded from Playstation Store do not run. They appear to download and install correctly, but just don't work.

Please note: I am using a hard wired internet connection through mains home plugs (Comtrend 200Mbps, the ones you get with BT Vision, incidently).

Anyone got any ideas?

Demos that I have tried that freeze system (Playstation 3 splash screen then blank screen, lots of network and hard disk activity, have to reset console by powering down, back to XMB)

Lemmings Starter Pack (re-downloaded 3 times)
Race Driver GRID
Burnout Paradise


Works:

Motorstorm
Sega Stars Tennis

I have downloaded the Casino Royale trailer and Wall-E trailer and they both work fine.

Just changed over from Xbox 360 and must admit I never had any problems whatsoever downloading demos from Xbox Live (on exactly the same setup). Not dissing Xbox, just saying I know my connection and network are good.

Strange, this happened to me on DefJam thing, i have burnout and lemmings and not had no probs, try removing the demo and re downloading, mabey your download was corrupt.

just a quick thought - is your system activated to play the stuff from the store?

Sign into the PSN first, then follow these steps
1. Go to PLAYSTATION Network icon in the XMB.
2. Go to Account Management and press X.
3. In the Account Management screen, go to Account Management and press X.
4. In the Account Management screen, go to Activate System and press X.
5. In the Activate System screen, go to PLAYSTATION3 (This system) and press X.
6. In this panel, it will show you whether or not your system is activated. If it is not activated, you can activate it by pressing X on the ACTIVATE SYSTEM option or, if it is activated, you can deactived by pressing X on the DEACTIVATE SYSTEM option.

You were right, my system was not activated, so I have activated it now.

Unfortunatley, it didn't solve the problem though.

Searches on forums and Google have produced nothing, so I starting to think it is only effecting my machine.

Has anyone any other ideas?

have you tried redownloading the demos?

(i take it you have firmware 2.30 installed)
