I'm thinking of writing a book on this one;
The story so far.........
1. Old isa Natwest £3021
2. New isa opened A&L currently contains £3020
3. When opened asked also to transfer the NW one (10th April)
4. NW isa still in NW at day 34
Below are the reasons / advice I have recieved so far;
From NW
1. you can't have 2 isa's in the same year
2. you can't have 2 isa's at all
3. Take your cash out and open a new one through your wife
4. Just take the cash out
5. Its A&L job to chase us up (MY CASH!!!!)
6. Its the tax offices fault
7. Your signature is slightly different, we will send you another form to fill in
8. You already have £3020 in this years, you can't top it up.
From A&L
1. You filled in the form, we requested the cheque........they haven't paid
2. We will not chase this up, its Natwests fault
3. Our process takes another 30 days from recieving your cheque
I am now thoroughly naffed off with this, I've attended the bank, all they did was phone the same wasters I've been phoning (in fairness even she started shouting at them), I have written letters of complaint etc. I'm losing out on round about 1-1.5% on this and its rediculous.
CAN ANYONE HELP/ SUGGEST SOMETHING??????:mad: :mad:

Make a formal complaint now against both organisations - that will make for an interesting reference to the Financial Ombudsman Service in about eight weeks time..........under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

apart from their own complaints system, is there any other way of a formal complaint for the ombudsman thats free and easy?One day I'll be rich me tells ya.....rich.....hahaha:D0

Before you can make an complaint to the Ombudsman, you have to lodge a complaint with the company(ies) concerned, they're allowed 8 weeks' to deal with the complaint (re post number 2) before you then take it to the Ombudsman. You mention that you've written letters of complaint, have you received acknowledgement that your complaint is being handled. If not, I'd write another, send recorded delivery, so you have proof for the Ombudsman that you've tried to give them the chance to sort out the problem. There aren't any charges made by the Ombudsman for dealing with a complaint.0

Cheque left Natwest today following a meeting with the bank manager yesterday, I've written a massive letter of complaint asking for about £30 compensation for calls, petrol, in convienience, loss of interest, poor service and poor management.
I ve also threatened them with pulling my current account and the wifes saving account with them
Does anyone think I have a chance re.. compensation??One day I'll be rich me tells ya.....rich.....hahaha:D0 -
I would have thought that you were letting them off lightly at 30 quid, I received 50 quid a couple of years ago and 100 quid two months ago (inflation ?) under the same circumstances as yours.
With respect though, perhaps the delay may not be considered as being too excessive. I know that the guidelines suggest 30 days.
I have always found it to be beneficial to communicate directly with the engine driver (letter to C.E.O.) rather than the rag.
Finally, I trust that you emphasised in your letter the amount of emotional stress that you had experienced due to the lack of "fitness for purpose" which had been displayed by the organisation ?
Good luck.0 -
