I just received my username after waiting for ages, so I get that and my access token thingy and activate my account, go through all the process, then it says, your account cannot be used, or something. So I try again and it says I have already activated so log in normally, it says my account needs to be reinstated. God, how annoying!
I'm not phoning them because I am just using my mobile at about 40p a minute (i only use it for texting), so I have emailed them, wonder if they will call me back.
Anyone else had problems with activating their esaver account?

I wonder if they only allow account activation once they've received your verification cheque?0

that's all gone through fine, they didn't send out the activation code until the cheque was deposited. Luckily for me, I only sent £1 just to be on the safe side. I will ring them tomorrow.0 -
just as an extra:
I just applied for a fixed term ebond with Birm Mids, paying 6.85% gross for 1 year, which I thought was pretty good. It asked if I already had a BM username, so I added the one I'd been given (for the locked account) and it let me open all the way to depositing £1 from my linked bank account, then it said the same 'your account is unavailable, please call 0845 ..... '
hmmmm methinx I shall definitely be calling them tomorrow, how very odd!0 -

just to mention, that the 0800 number doesn't work. but thanks anyway to the person that passed it on.
I have tried their 0845 number but am being kept on hold for too long, still haven't managed to access my account or actually speak to anyone.
I have just emailed them at the address in my welcome letter. investments@birminghammidshires.co.uk
hmm wonder if they will reply
do they not want my money0 -
I just made my first direct debit payment into the BM e-saver and it appeared in the account the same day as it was taken from my current account (and the told me when that would happen).
It's not cleared but presumably is gaining interest which is pretty good.
The money was in my banks e-saver until BM took it out of the current account so at most 1 days loss oif intrest.
Wonder what will happen in the other direction.0 -

The transaction was initiated on Monday, and the money landed with BM on Wednesday (as expected)...but strangely didn't leave my Halifax account until Thursday.
I've never seen that before and wonder if I earned 'double interest' for Wednesday? I'll have to check the BM T&C's to see if interest is earned from the day of receipt, or the following day? It's not cleared but presumably is gaining interest which is pretty good.Wonder what will happen in the other direction.0 -
Standard 3-day BACS transfer (as I understand it...haven't withdrawn yet).
Halifax enrich themselves by taking an extra day - send Monday, arrive Thursday. Presumably BM is the same0
