hmmm, with CAD isn't it better to still be with CRT's??? A lot of the designers here are still on CRT's. The price of a decent (note "decent") tft for any graphical work will set you back £400+.

You'd also need more than a 19" tft as they run in a native resolution of 1280x1024. You'd need a 20" or 21" tft, that size of tft runs in a native resolution of 1600x1200.

The Dell 2005FPW or 2001FP are probably the ones to go for. The 2001FP has had great reviews (from Tom's Hardware and AnandTech) and is about £415 from Dell. I think it's currently reduced from £520.

thx, i still want my £1500 philips hi res ( several years old now), but neither screen will fit in the tiny house we' moving to, do you know anything about putting a pc input into a flat tv screen - based on the principle that i only work when the kids arnt around, and the big crt tv we have isnt goint to fit either - ...2 birds...etc & a bit a careful swivel bracketry to view from adesk...

  • Wolfman is totally right, if you are going to use autocad and you need that clarity you will have to pay a lot more than standard for the monitors you need. I'd stick with the CRT's if you can
