I always park at my Nan's then get a taxi (£5) sorry that doesn't help really does it?

You could be cheeky and park somewhere in Crawley on a residential street with no parking restrictions then get a taxi? It is so close it will be only about a fiver.

Oooh I also remember there is some sort of Toys R Us deal (sounds random but it is true ) that I used to park at East Midlands Airport but they had other airports too. I will look it up.

Think it was APH and you get 25% if you mention Toys R Us.

I would love to know what cab firm you are using thats £5.

I am closer than Crawley (I think) & its £8 (Gatwick has a minimum fare attached to it).

To be fair it has been a couple of years since I used a taxi. It was £5 then. I just looked it up and I think it would be about £8 now. My Nan's partner (can't call him boyfriend, he is over 80!) takes me in the car now. You can't be much closer than Crawley to Gatwick! Unless you live in Horley?
    Family live in Three Bridges.
I used to live near to Horley when I was little but not for a while.

There was me thinking you knew a cheaper cab firm than me:rotfl:

My mum lives in Three Bridges, a cab from there used to be £3 if you got dropped off somewhere near the south terminal that had a stair or lift into a side enterance.

    All gone up now:mad:

Yep that side entrance is where we get dropped off! Remember having to run for the monorail as I had forgotten we were flying from the North Terminal once and hadn't allowed time! I think it was only the year before last that it was a fiver, damn inflation!

When I was a kid my parents used to take me for a day out to ride the monorail, it was free and I loved it!

Sorry this isn't helping the OP.;)
