Lost Lloyds Visa Debit card after upgrading - What will I get?

Hi

Im with Lloyds TSB and have recently upgraded my account from an 'Under 19 Account', to a 'CurrentPlus Silver' account because I turned 18 and the bank said it would be better to do so.

Anyway for the past 2 years Ive had Visa Debit Card, the Blue and Green one which you have all probably seen. Unfortunately I lost this card while drunk last night:( Ive rung up and ordered my new one, but now Im wondering will this be any different to my old card becuase Ive seen the CurrentPlus Cards and they differ from my old one. Will it be silver because the CurrentPlus Gold Cards are Gold? Or will it be them new Olympic sponsor cards?

Also does anybody have any advice on this account and more information for me please.

Im just curious:rotfl:

Thank you!!

I am pretty sure you dont get a card upgrade with that account, but since you lost you card (I vowed never again to take all of my cards out with me when I go drinking after losing my wallet twice in 6 months, it is murder being without them) you will get the Visa Debit Card with the new design it has the Blackhorse on it.

You are not missing anything with the Gold version anyway it is the same design only it says in small letters GOLD on it, the coloured swish in the middle is more light brown rather than gold (it still has the white band top and bottom) and the numbers have a gold paint on them rather than silver.

Thanks for that information, sounds beter than my old one which was becoming a bit worn:)
Got too have a card that looks good;)
I shall not be taking my card when I go out drinking again lol.

Does anybody have any idea of how long replacement cards take to arrive, the guy who I spoke too on the phone said around 3 working days, but I dont know whether to take that with a pinch of salt. Its a pain not having a card lol.

I'm an account manager for LTSB (boo hiss!) and I've had a couple of people come in for the premier account just for the card!

    Hi benlight

If they post it out disguised mail (which always makes me laugh as you can tell exactly what it is as soon as it lands on the doormat, the same as when it came in the envelope that is in the brown "disguised" one) it takes an extra day so it will be 4 days.

They can tell you in the branch or over the phone if this is what they have done, they do it to me as I live in a dodgy area (for the moment) and the Royal Mail service here is abysmal it is like the Bermuda triangle, otherwise it is indeed 3 days and they have never failed me.

I dont know of any other bank that beats them in getting a new card to you so quickly, order on a Monday it arrives on Wednesday morning. It was first introduced at that speed by the old TSB years and years ago when I was young and at Uni, happy days. :-)

Now I am wondering what the Permier Card looks like, mmm.. might see if there is a picture on Google. I also prefer to have a card with a nice design, I used to like my National & Provinical Building Society card with the penguins on it.

The correct URL should be http://www.flickr.com/photos/billbennett/2504919481/ and just for completeness here is the sky blue coloured Visa Debit card for the Lloyds TSB basic Cash Account - http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h162/daveraveuk/lloyds_cashaccount.jpg

As I work in a shop I get to see loads of different types of bank cards and Lloyds cards are some of the nicest. Clydesdale Bank have recently changed their card designs which are quite nice and now feature the functions of the card along the side like the Lloyds TSB ones used to have. Halifax/BOS cards have to be among the least attractive they have had the same plain blue design for many years now and their Easycash Visa Electron Card is a horrible green colour - I think it is about time they gave their cards a long overdue makeover!
