DPD - previously Parceline

Options
Waited for my parcel to arrive that was despatched last week and contacted the online store which I bought the goods from.

They check the consignment number and told me that it had been signed for and delivered yesterday?!?

Checked with my family, no-one was in at the stated time and it definately wasn't signed for. The online store contacted DPD and the driver said that it was left with a neighbour. I am now going to have to track down my parcel tonight and hope that they are not away or something.

My gripe is:

Why wasn't I told it was left at a neighbours house?
Why does it say it has been signed for at my address and using my surname if it hasn't?
Why should I have to track down my parcel which they have been paid to deliver?

Anyway am waiting for their response after I have asked them to change the status of the parcel until I notify them that I actually have it!

Grrr...

I'd be glad of having parcels signed for by an (adjoining) neighbour, I wish more companies used a bit of common sense - but it would be nice for them to pop a card through telling you where it was left!

I hate it when something gets sent other than via Royal Mail (so I can pick it up locally at the sorting office) and you end up having to drive a 50 mile round trip to pick something up (because you have the audacity to be out at work during the day lol)
 I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

I'm happy enough for parcels to be delivered to neighbours - so long as I know it has happened and which hose it has gone to.
Had a similar thing to the OP. I was expecting a parcel and called when it was a week late. When I called they didn't know which house it had been delivered to.
When they spoke to the driver he gave 4 possible houses, and based on my street I only knew where one was (weird numbering on my street), so I think he was making it up.
Did manage to get a surname though which helped, and got the parcel in the end.
  • The problem seems to be that it isn't actually at the house they say it is and has been signed for by a surname no-one recognises, its not the same surname as anyone who lives there.

I have a good relationship with the people who are there and they have had parcels before so wouldn't lie about it.

    The saga continues...

I would have though the firm you bought from would simply send another now and sort the problem with the courier, not leave you with the mess
