Am I missing something?
OK, I'm a noob to this - be gentle otherwise I'll set the MSE Arms on you!
I've moved into a house. it has a prepayment key meter for electric and a normal meter for gas.
my guestimate is that we'll be using about £35 on each per month (does that sound about right for two people in a terraced (although a bit of a big one!)).
the gas is with british gas and the leccy is with edf.
so, i've pinged in some details into some things and i'm looking at scottish power and it seems that, even if i fix the price until 2011, i'm better off by about 130 per year? (don't worry - i won't forget quidco! )
seems a bit weird that i could fix (especially in the current climate) and be better off right from the start.
does that sound weird to anyone else?
i'll not start :j :j just yet!
thanks!

It might be that it isn't comparing like with like.
Can you fix on the PP meter? Or is it assuming you'll be paying by DD?
That would explain why the saving is there.
That said, get the PP meter out and you'll make a saving with pretty much every supplier.
Very few of the fixing plans have turned out a bad idea. I know some people came off them last year when the prices dropped, but I think over the long run it's a good idea.0 -
they're assuming that the pp meter will be gone (and i'll be happy with that - you only need to wake up once without any leccy to find them very unfunny at all!)My signature has been removed by the authorities.
