PIR Wireless home security cameras

As per title, I'm after a couple of wireless home security camera's that I can link up to my PC.

They need to be PIR activated so only record when something moves, have IR backlight to see in dim light, be wireless connection to PC, weatherproof (obviously) and most importantly CHEAP!!!

Had a look on the net and found a few models ranging from £50 to £200, but wondered if anyone has installed some themselves and can recommend some models which are good value and as well as performing well?

Cheers in advance. ;)
Steve.

Steve, this is not really a direct answer, but a few years ago, I had a similar problem and I found the answer to be a software solution. The camerers worked all the time, but the screen only came to life - and consequantly recorded - when there was movement detected. I could even determine how much movement would trigger it. Unfortunetly I cannot for the life of me remeber the name of the package - which was quite cheap. I have seen very simlar cheap software with some webcams though.

    Just a thought mate.

Woody is correct it is the software and not pir that does this. You would not want a PIR to do this either.

There are basically 2 types of camera interfaces - IP or analogue. The ip one is a network connector and cable like used in PCs and the other one is the old wired coax cable type. You also can get wireless versions of both.

The old analogue type camera are often much cheaper, have a far superior picture, can support a higher frame rate and will not flood your network (think they can go to 16 cameras or more per card, which you can't really do on ip). The size of the saved file is often much smaller on analogue cameras compared to ip ones.

Also some cameras support / have built in microphones, if that is what you want.

google/ebay geovision as they are one of the market leaders for analogue. For IP cameras Axis is well
    known.
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)
