Hi

My current family box is starting to show signs that it may be on the way out soon.

Can anyone point me in the direction of good deal on a reasonable brand/model?

Have posted this in other forums. There really ought to be one for main consumer appliances deals. Quite a surprising and obvious 'gap' on this site.

I understand why you feel you had to do this - just as I hope you will understand that there is a basic problem with there being no single forum on which to discuss good deals. I also hope this illustrates the need for you or some other mod to contact the managment team and get this sorted.

Am looking for minimum 37 inch. Anyone noticed anything good about? Searching the forum produces not a lot.

£649 for a 42" (i think) in Sainsburys, reduced from £899.

Think it has freeview too.

I bought one at RicherSounds recently. Remember that most of the better deals you see on their website will not be available at most stores as they are one-off ex-display models. Fortunately, I did manage to get one and am very happy with it. Had I not got that, I would have gone for a JVC 1080p 42in with freeview from Sainsburys for £649. Alternatively, if quality is not your concern, Currys has a Matsui 42in for £449 - probably one of the cheapest 42in HD tv available to buy.
