Ford Fiesta 1.4 Engine
Hi Guys,
Wonder if someone can help, my brother is having major problems with his 1.4 fiesta and the garage have said to him today he needs a new engine. A new ford one would cost him about 3k (which he cant afford and wouldn't want to pay as it is nearly the value of the car). They have told him to look on the internet for a second hand engine, but i havent got a clue where to look.
Anyone got any ideas of where to look, what specifally i should be looking for and how much it is gonna cost him?
Many Thanks in Advance.

Hi
Depending on what has gone in your brother's car's engine, you may find one of the following useful:
Brand new short engine for £500. This place is in north Birmingham.
Second hand complete engine for £411.25 plus a fitting charge of £470. This place is in south Leeds.
Both are reputable places.
You can always check the local scrapyards.
Good luckBe nice, life is too short to be anything else.0 -

Specialised Engines in Grays do reconditioned for under £1000.
In fact any of the engine reconditioners listed in the Autotrader should be able to do it for that. Just avoid the one based near Heathrow - they've been on Watchdog in the past.0
