I have experimented with free postage, postage at cost plus approx 20p for packing and postage at cost with £1 added as packing and throughout the whole experiment my feedback for p and p charges remained at 4.7.

Hi, I am the O/P and i thank you for all your comments, i notice that most are from a sellers point of view. I have no problem with adding on a little extra cost for packaging and time to take package to PO etc but if you read my original post, the actual postage cost was less than £3 and the bloke charged £15! By anyones standards thats excessive, a few quid is more reasonable! Anyway, i e-mailed the bloke and he agreed that it was too high and refunded £5.

Good on you. Well done for getting a refund.

I buy (a bit) and sell (a lot) on ebay. When I buy, I look at the method of delivery, and the overall cost of the item with delivery.

When I receive it, as long as it was sent by the method specified, or better, and I receive it in a timely manner, then I give five stars for time of despatch & p&p costs, REGARDLESS of what the postage cost was. When I bid/ordered, I knew the price quoted. If the seller actually pays less (or more), then so what?

The time to query P&P charges is BEFORE you bid. As I said, I'd only quibble if the service used wasn't that shown in the listing.

. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.
