Nationwide internet banking - can't register???

I was just wondering if anyone else had problems trying to register for Nationwide internet banking.

I first tried to register mid April. We have a mortgage with them and wanted to view the details. Haven't recieved anything, so gave them a call. They couldn't even find that i was trying to register and told me to re-register. Few days later a letter came through that they couldn't match some information to my file. anyway, in the meantime I tried to register again and opened a Flex account. This was end of April.

Recieved the card, pin, cheque book - but still no internet banking details. Called them yesterday and was told toreregister again as they can't do anything about it.

So, month on since I started and I still can't view my mortgage details. Both accounts are in joint names - would it be causing the problem for me?

We are going to repay our mortgage in the next month or so and would like to know how much exactly there is left to pay as we'll incure ERC. But I can't!

I tried yesterday to register for internet banking with my new Flex account, but it didn't let me - it was saying the the items 'account' and 'account number' where incorrect. And that was when I choose Flexaccount and entered the number of the account!!!!!

They obviously don't like me....

just to say that confusingly the flexaccount has two differenct 'a/c' numbers.
one is formed by the sortcodeand account number (6+8 digits) and there is another that is (partly) printed on statements .... check the registration system for which one you need

So, it is not the one that is on the card itself?????
How confusing... If I don't recieve anything by the end of the week, I will be calling them again. I filled out another registration last night with my mortgage account.

On the card the number should be xxxxxxxx with a sort code xx-xx-xx.
On your statement, it should be xxxx/6xxxxxxx. The first 4 digits are the branch code, followed by /6 then your account number from the card.

    Nationwide say:
If you have a FlexAccount you should key the six digit sort code and the 8 digit number as it appears on the card or statement. Sometimes a FlexAccount number has 9 digits with a 6 as the first digit. If this is the case, you may ignore the 6 and use the following 8 digits with the sort code.

Well, I tried yesterday to put 6 in front of the account number and it didn't work. Some sort of mysteries I think....

I tried to make a transfer to the new Nationwide account today from A&L, will see if it comes up in a few days time. I'll just have to find a cash machine to check that!!!

  • I have internet banking with Nationwide, but cannot use it a they have brought out Card Readers, stating that all customers will receive their reader by the end of May, but they have initiated the procedure already, so here I am in France and cannot transfer any money! Spent the whole morning on the phone and all I get is 'there is nothing we can do'. Cannot get hold of my branch, or speak to anyone who may be able to do something. They advised a card reader is in the post and should be here in five days, but I don't have five days and need to transfer some money now. Can anyone tell me is this legal?
