Citizens advice and married couples??

My husband and I have recently split and I went to my local Citizens advice for help. Now he wants to get some advice on Benefits etc but I was told he cannot go to one of the local branches as I have already been. He apparently has to go to another area. Can this be right??

Because of "Conflict Of Interest" he will have to use a different branch! Any branch will do, as long as you've not used it.

yes I work at the CAB and we can not have the same advisors dealing with both of you, it would not be in your best interest anyway!

    Yes, this is true.

    It's called 'conflict of interest'.

Similarly, both parties cannot use the same solicitor in divorce proceedings.

    Hi,
Could he have a phone interview with another CAB ? That would save him going too far away, they could maybe take details from him and call him back with answers ?
Just a thought to save all that travel!

That should be possible, we do phone interviews all the time!
