Hi studoc,
Welcome to mse.
You will probably get more replies on the Motoring board, so I hope that you don't mind if I move your thread over there.

Is it a red light that could be mistaken for an oil light?
This happened in my Corsa. Was intermittent for a few months then constant. Its an EMS (Engine Management System) warning light saying there is something wrong.
Sadly you have to take it to a garage that has a computer it can plug into to see what is wrong. I was lucky in that a friend told me of a chap who only charged £25. He then told me what part I needed (a £3 valve) and how to fit it myself.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

I have a corsa but did not get this, but bF has a Vectra and his locking lights were on all the time or even worse, his flicker light for the indicator would keep on fliking even though there was no need to indicate!!!
Same thing, BF phoned this very helpful dealership down at this parents' (the car was theirs before). They told him he needed to replace a 3£ switch and told him how to do it...
so I hope your thingie sorts itself out... seems to be a glitch with vauxhall's"Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye
It's only teenage wasteland"
