Cryptorchidism in cats

Oh sorry, I looked and their website changed, on their website they used to tell you how to make their 'recipe'.. (maybe they themselves make it up and sell it now in this way) it was a cup of peroxide (any vol) (chemist or hairdressers wholesaler) teaspoon of bicarb, and 2 drops of fairy liquid, put these three ingredients into an empty spray bottle, then spray a bit in an inconspicious area of where its to be used, ie carpet, lino, cupboard door, test a small area for colourfast, proceed if ok, first blot up as much of the urine as poss with kitchen roll, then spray the soiled area liberally with this mixture, then just leave it to soak in, dry, and do its job. only mix up a bit of it as it froths up in the bottle and if you leave it,it may leak in your cupboard, what I do is stand any unused mixture in the bottle inside a shallow empty takeaway dish - them plastic ones like a tupperware.
I have cats and dogs, when I have needed to use it and I find it to be the best thing I have ever used. It really does work. :j If the patch of wee is really bad or has been done on over and over several times before you have noticed, then apply the mixture twice or three times, allowing each time for it to dry out. I promise you that the smell will disappear.
I used it outside too, on a brick column next to my gate where the dog kept cocking his leg, the smell was gone in no time, leaving no trace, thus not tempting him to do it again there.
PS be sure to get liquid peroxide and not cream peroxide, as cream wont go through the spray nozzle...
PPS the only thing I ever noticed that it made the colour change on was a coloured wicker basket.0 -
Thanks for that, i will give it a try.
Is Hydrogen Peroxide ok or is that a different thing?
Also does it have to be Fairy Liquid or can it be any washing up liquid?
Thanks for your helpErrrr...come back later0 -
Hydrogen peroxide is what Victoria is referrring to. It has different dilutions eg 1%,don't know what strength victoria has used, but be careful as this is a bleaching agent.0

The strengths which you can buy are lower at a chemist, I think mainly 20 or 30 vol. I use 60vol and dilute it.- (for me, more economical) this is from a hairdressers wholesalers. Can be any washing up liquid I like to use fairy as there is a nice red one caled aromatic pink petals or something which is a nice smell.
'patchwork cat' is correct, it can slightly lift the colour, for example in hairdressing 60vol peroxide mixed with powder bleach can produce baby blonde in about 30-40 mins - used with heat.....like I pointed out, for me the only time this happened is when I used it on a coloured wicker basket, and like I say, best to test it in an inconspicuous area.
I'm sure you will be very pleased with the results..let us know your outcome!0 -
My boys are litter brothers now aged 10, although I had one at 6 weeks old and the other did not come to me until he was 2. One was neutered as a young kitten and is fine. The other was not neutered until he was about 9 months old.
He has always exhibited what the vet calls 'sexualised behaviour', mostly trying to treat my arm as a female cat! I'm sure you can imagine. He also became very 'attached' to a throw my daughter bought me, henceforth known as the w*nky blanky. He is also locked in a power struggle with OH to be the alpha male in the house which, still after 5 years, the cat is winning!
The vet thinks they probably missed an undescended testicle and said if we couldn't cope with his party piece he could prescribe female hormones, but otherwise not to worry. I decided to leave it as - long as he doesn't do it in front of visitors I'm not fussed and at least he is clean in the house, although he sprays outside - mostly up OH's car!
The other one has Ovarid from time to time for his anxiety caused by my daughter going off to college and coming home, only to go off again!
Funny things cats!
