Hi this is my first post here, i have watched the site for many weeks and been looking for information but no luck.. Can anyone advise the cheapest way to call an 0870 number at the weekend or evenings? so far the cheapest i have found is for weekends..
02 mobile 2p min at weekends..
onetel 1.5p at weekends but you have to sign up to their carrier preselect service,, is this a good idea??
Tesco home phone 1.75p a min at weekends..
Caudwell commmunications which also trade as homecall? say 1p a min evenings and weekends for national rate calls,, BUT when i called them one member of staff said it was 1p and the other said 3p, and neither seemed to sure enough to confirm it to me in fax or writing, but they also said i have to sign my telephone line over to them ..
i have checked on https://www.saynoto0870.co.uk but not found the company there. any advice of a cheaper way to call 0870 would be greatly apprectiated by myself and i would suspect other users!
I use Voiceover IP via 1899.com for all my 01/02/07 calls via my laptop and telephone headset so cost of those calls not important, but i want to call 0870 cheap!!
PLEASE help!!!
P.S i have one number in mind i want to call most, so a freinds/family style service might be good??

ask if a normal 01/02 number,
try http://www.saynoto0870.com/
consider getting a 02 mobile contract ( seem to to include 08 numbers- check first)
look on mobile section - something like http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=91076

Otherwise 18185 charge 4p/minute during the week and 2p/minute at weekends.Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -
i have tried calling them but when they called back it showed " international" on my caller ID which i think means they use VOIP? cos i know if i call myself using VOIP itshows international.. i feel so proud how my phone bill has dropped over the years, £1000 bills was so common in mid 90's and now if only i could solve the 0870 problem!! oh well :-)0

Find yourself an Orange Everyday 50 SIM card. Free for 50 mins daily, then 1p per min.0

In certain circumstances you could credibly call them and explain that you have been having difficulty calling them from abroad? Seek out a competitor who does have a geographical number, and suggest that you'll be forced to switch business if they can't oblige.0

50 mins off peak every day for 50pence would be perfect!! Orange said they dont offer that pack anymore.. how likely is somoene going to want to give up that sort of offer though?? or do they sell on at a high premium? would consider paying a fair amount as i would save about 50p a day, so a £180 saving in one year...
Thanks for your help folks.. i was nervous about posting my 1st message on here but so nice to see people helping with suggestions! Thanks again...0 -
There are actually 2 basic charge points for 0870 numbers, most being "national" rate (1.5p at weekend) but a few (G2's) are charged at 10p per minute all the time - see http://www.serviceview.bt.com/list/current/docs/Call_Charges.boo/16321.htm
for BT classifications.
I do not know any of the carriers that charge less that BT rate at weekend0
