    Maybe not with prepayment, but for people who read their meters themselves and pay after a bill, maybe give your meter an artificially high reading now so that the units are cheaper and then you will give smaller readings the next time. Bit of a short term solution really though.

    The prices on the meter are picked up when you buy, so hoarding would put off the prices until the first time you bought after the rise - just have to time it right.
    Some suppliers may see through this when they get the readings though, don't think BG will make you pay it back, but don't quote me on it.
