    Technically YES.
But it is against your viewing contract.

Just keep a correspondence address in the UK and use a UK mobile if you call Sky. Apparently, if your Sky+ contract is already set up it will still work even if you don't have the box connected to the Plain Old Telephone Line like they stipulate.

(Any service that restricts the movement if intellectual goods/services across an EU border ought to be illegal IMHO - why not ban people from carrying CD/books between countries then?).

Sky will probably write to you after a while as they'l know your box aint connected to the phone line..they might end up cancelling it!

    was waiting for that! lol

so it will work but sky will probably ring and cancel the subscription if it isnt connected to the phone line?

does this mean that the only 'legal' way to get around this is to get sky in germany then cancel when i get back?

i am in the army so does this change anything reference the contract seeing as i will be on british soil on the camp over there?

Unless they've changed the contract, you only need to keep the box connected to the telephone line for the first 12 months. So if you move after that time, the telephone line won't be an issue anyway.

You will need a bigger dish over in Germany, if you go there ask around if anyone else is doing the same.... should get an idea how big your dish will need to be.

Unless you have a multiroom contract! This stipulates that both boxes MUST be connect to a phoneline for life of the contract.

Have not had our sky connected to a telephone line for years. Its mainly for upgrades and Box Office to notify Sky how much to charge you.
