    This is a great thread xx My best advice is to spend as little as possible till you actually move, all bar the very basics. When you have settled into your new home then is the time to work out what you miss, that is done by coming to use it and finding out you dont have it....... First think can you improvise with something else, and if you cant then go and buy it. Or better still go to parents and look lovingly at there stuff and 'say can I borrow it' My experiance has taught me they will either

    A, Offer to buy it for you,
    B, Say yes take it, never expecting to see it again
    C, Say yes but we need it back soon

    Ignore C unless they remember you took it in the first place.

    For me the basics are;

    TV
    Fridge for beer

    The rest can wait! :D :rotfl:

    Re the saucepan set the starter set looks reasonable...sure the pans will last long enough - even my cheapies managed 8 years & I suspect have only "gone" now becaue I cook more...
    as for your requirements...easily pleased!

    The guy or gal - who can start off running a tight ship is mythical. Relax. Mistakes are how you learn. I shudder to think how little I knew about cooking when I first started 40 years ago. I'd learnt at school how to cook fairy cakes, but you can't live for long on those!

    Many decades and three grown up children later, I'm a reasonable cook (and so is my husband!), the children have survived the experience and the house gets by on as little housework as we reckon we can get away with.

    Have fun!
