    Batgirl, it's a no brainer about paying it off in one go....... tonnes of people would loooooove to be able to do that! If he wants to rebuild his credit score / rating, which sounds like a good idea, get him to ignore his mate. Pay off the card and OD in full now. Then get the credit limit reduced on the CC, set up a direct debit to pay the balance in full every month, and just use it once a month to buy somthing, like petrol or whatever. Pay it off in full and on time every month means no interest or chanrges, but nice 0s on credit reports. :)
