Best APR's

in Credit cards
I have 2 credit cards:
Egg Green (15.9% APR - still in 0% period - £2500 limit)
RBoS Visa (18.9% APR - £800 limit)
and have also just been accepted for
Egg Money (6.9% APR £1400 limit)
So by the looks of things, my RBoS card will be pretty much redundant with the highest APR and the lowest limit, but before I cancel it, I was wondering if Credit Cards can be played off against one another? If I called up RBoS, tell them I'm getting the Egg Money card, and that I don't need theirs anymore, would they offer a better rate (6.9% or lower?) and a higher limit? Or would I have to ask for it? Or would there be no chance at all?

Hiya
just as an indication , i have a marbles at 14.9% and called them to see if they would match my barclaycard 6.9% LOB and they said they couldnt , they could only offer 9.9%.so it is worth asking but to drop it from 18.9% to anything remotley interesting to you may be mission impossible
worth a try though , you can only ask..

If anyones interested, because it was a student credit card, the first person I spoke to said the rate was non-negotiable, so I said thats fine, I'd like to cancel it then. I got passed through to the cancellations department who could offer me 6.9% APR on purchases for 6 months, or 6.9% APR on balance transfer for LOB. This was no good to me, so I cancelled anyway.
But it goes to show that the offers are there to be taken if you make the call.0 -
