Free Karcher Pressure Washer- Is It Worth It?
I see Tesco are offering a free Karcher K299M+ T50 Pressure Washer if you buy their car insurance.

Can anyone tell me if these things are worthwhile? I like the idea of simply blasting the car clean, but is it really that easy? I was also wondering if these would be good for cleaning the house windows?
My insurance would be £30 more expensive to go with Tesco, so I need to figure out if it's worth it.

If Aldi still have any of their pressure washers left (saw a stack a couple of days ago in leeds) at £80 apparently they're rebranded karchers (probably an old model) and looking at the spec seems close to Karchers that sell for around £250.0

Robert Dyas sell Karcher's from £80.If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

I'm fairly sure that the 299M and the patio attachment sells as a kit for £79 in Costco and about £89 in Robert Dyas. The man without a signature.0

Don't forget £10 giftcard if you're referred by a friend - so if you shop at Tesco, that is effectively another £10 knocked off.0

Thanks.
Has anyone actually used a pressure washer on a car though? Does it remove the need for any elbow grease, or are these things more suited to blasting patios?0 -
I would say they are better for blasting patio's rather than washing cars, and that also depends which nozzle you use, as some can lift the paint if you have any corrosion. There is also the danger of using such high pressure water spray that it may be forced into some of the car's more delicate electrics - leading to costly and inconvenient problems.....:TProud to have lived within my means all my life :T0

We use our karcher to rinse the cars and to have a good go at the wheels, but would worry about it taking the paint off too much to do the whole thing. Should do a good job of the windows though and they *are brilliant* at blasting patios - really is like one of the infomercials the first time you do it0

I use the karcher washer on my car it's great. takes the dirt off the wheels, under wheel arch, droppings and any dirt. it only damages the paint the surface has an area which is already damaged.0

Depends what car you have i suppose....
If its a nice car with good paint work etc then you need to go easy or you'll push the dirt under the wax/polish.
Have a read on detaling world about cleaning cars.....lol
you'll need more than elbow grease like two buckets a wash mitt....lol0
